MAINS CONNECTION

1. Check if the mains voltage as shown on the
type plate on the base of the set corresponds
to your local mains supply.
2. Connect the mains plug into the wall socket.
The mains supply is now switched on and the
numbers on the display will start to flash. You
will need to set the correct time.
3. To disconnect the set from the mains
completely, withdraw the mains plug from the
wall socket.
POWER BREAKDOWN BACKUP
– When a power failure occurs, the complete
clock radio will be switched off.
– As soon as the power supply returns, the
numbers on the display will start to flash. This
indicates that you must set the correct time on
the clock.
– To retain the clock time and the set alarm time
in the event of a power failure or
disconnection, insert a 9 volt battery, type
6F22 (not supplied) into the battery
compartment: this will act as a power back
up. However, the time will not be illuminated
on the clock display. Operation of the alarm
and radio are also excluded.
For clarity, the battery back up is used to
retain the set clock and alarm time (s) only.
As soon as the power supply returns, the
display will indicate the correct time.
• Before inserting the battery, connect the
mains plug to the wall socket.
• Insert a battery into the battery compartment.
– Replace the battery once a year. It is not
possible to say precisely how long the battery
will last. The service life depends on how
often and for how long the power supply fails.
This varies according to country and region.
Batteries contain chemical substances, so
they should be disposed of properly.
Important note for users in the UK:
please follow the instructions on page 2.
