E-160 ELECTRONIC BALANCE – INSTRUCTIONS
Please read complete instruction before use
Thank you for purchasing the EDLUND E-160 Electronic balance. With normal care and proper treatment it will provide years of
reliable service. Please read all operating instructions carefully.
KEEP THE FOLLOWING POINTS IN MIND:
-Avoid lengthy exposure to extreme hear or cold, your balance works best when operated with in the temperature specifications.
-Always allow the unit to acclimate to a normal room temperature before use.
-Allow sufficient warm up time. Usually 30 seconds before calibration give the internal components a chance to stabilize.
-The cleaner the environment the better. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and proximity to other electronic equipment can all
have adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your unit.
-Handle with care. Gently apply all the items to be weighed onto tray top. Although designed to be quite durable, try to avoid rough
treatment as this ay permanently damage the internal sensor.
Operation
AC ADAPTOR OPERATION
1)
Your balance will operate only on 100-240V/AC 50-60 Hz household current by using the supplied AC/9VDC adaptor.
2)
Insert the female plug into the receptacle at the rear of the balance and then in to the desired wall outlet. Check your use of
any extension cord, which may affect power output.
3)
Your balance is now ready for use.
BATTERY OPERATION
1)
One nine (9) volt alkaline battery is required.
2)
To install battery:
a.
Open battery cover on bottom of balance.
b.
Place battery in to battery compartment aligned correctly
c.
Replace battery cover, ****** DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE! *****
3)
The balance use now ready for battery operation.
CALIBRATION
This Balance is calibrated at the factory and it won' t require calibration at your facility, unless the balance indicates over 16.2 ounces or below 15.8 ounces when a one pound weight (16 oz.) Is placed on the platform. If the weight indicated is over or under these two values use the following
calibration procedure.
IMPORTANT
Always perform calibration procedure after first turning the unit on and allowing time for it to warm up and stabilize. 30 seconds should be sufficient. For best results repeat the procedure at regular intervals if balance is to be actively weighing for prolonged periods.
