Your Stud Finder will perform the following functions:
• Pinpoint the location of wood studs behind walls or ceilings.

Verifying if the Unit Works
If the LED lights up when you place your hand up against the back of the Stud Finder,

then the unit is working properly.

Calibrating and Scanning In Stud Scan Modes
1. With Stud Finder turned on, position the unit flat against the wall.

2. Press the black On/Off button once and hold for Stud Scan Mode. (button Is located on the side)

3. Slowly slide unit horizontally across the wall, right or left. As you begin to approach a stud.

the yellow LED will flash warn,then red LED will light.

4. When the top red LED is flash and the beep sounds, you have located the edge of the stud.

5. Continue scanning beyond the marked spot until the LED goes out.

Reverse to locate the other edge of stud.

Working with different materials

The Stud Finder is designed for use on dry interior walls only.

THE FOLLOWING FACTORS CAN AFFECT ACCURACY: THICKNESS, DENSITY AND MOISTURE

CONTENT.
The Stud Finder is not designed to scan materials such as:
•
• Ceramic floor tile
•
• Carpeting and padding
•
• Wallpaper with metallic fibers
•
• Freshly painted walls that are still damp {must dry at least one week)
•
• Plaster
•

Operating Cautions
•
If there is electrical wiring or pipes in close proximity to the wall surface, the Stud Finder may detectthem as a stud.
•
To assist In determining If the Stud Finder has located a stud or another object considerthat studs or joists are normally
spaced 16 in (410mm) or 24 in. (610 mm) apart and are 1 1/2 In. (38mm) in width. Anything closer together or a
different width may not be a stud, joist or firebreak. Always turn off the electrical circuit breaker when working near
electrical wires.
Battery Installation:

1. Raise the end of the clip slightly (fig. I) to release the Cllp/ Bast from the Main Unit.
