MZCC-01
Mazda CX-9 A/C retention
interface 2011-2012
• The MZCC-01 is designed to retain the climate control functions for the
2011-2012 Mazda CX-9 without the Bose amplified sound system.
• For BOSE amplified systems please use the AXXESS MZTO-01 interface.
INTERFACE COMPONENTS
• MZCC-01 interface • 7903 with service plug
TOOLS REQUIRED
• Cutting tool • Crimping tool • Tape
• Connectors (example: butt-connectors, bell caps, etc.)
Caution: Metra recommends disconnecting the negative battery terminal before beginning
any installation. All accessories, switches, and especially air bag indicator lights must be
plugged in before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition.
*Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.
Connections to be made
From the 24-way connector
• Connect the Black wire to the radio's ground wire.
• Connect the Red wire to the ignition wire of the aftermarket radio.
• Connect the Yellow wire to the radio's 12-volt battery or memory wire.
• Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output of the
aftermarket radio.
• Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output of the
aftermarket radio.
• Connect the Grey wire to the right front positive speaker output of the
aftermarket radio.

• Connect the Grey/Black wire to the right front negative speaker
output of the aftermarket radio.
• Connect the Green wire to the radio's left rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the Green/Black wire to the radio's left rear negative speaker output.
• Connect the Purple wire to the radio's right rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the Purple/Black wire to the radio's right rear negative speaker output.
• Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire of the aftermarket
navigation radio.
• Connect the Orange/White wire to the illumination wire of the
aftermarket radio. If the aftermarket radio has no illumination wire, tape off the
Orange/White wire.
• No connections are to be made to the following wire colors. Please tape them off
Blue, Orange, Blue/White.
Installing the MZCC-01
• With all connections made, plug the MZCC-01 interface then into the service
harness of the 7903 then plug it into the vehicle (this harness is to be tucked in
a location where it can be accessed if needed).
• Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Cycle the key, by turning the ignition on for 30 seconds. Then "off" and "on"
again to test the radio.
Testing the MZCC-01
1. Turn the radio on and check balance and fader controls for proper operation.
2. Start the vehicle and check all A/C operations.
Setting the OE clock using the service harness
1. With the vehicle off unplug the MZCC-01 interface from the service harness.
2. Plug in the OEM radio and turn on the ignition.
3. Set the time.
4. Shut off the vehicle and unplug the factory radio.
5. Plug in the MZCC-01 tuck the service harness back in the dash.
