Grounding Instructions
Corded installation
•
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction
or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for
electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This disposal is
equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor
and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that
is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes
and ordinances. For corded installations, do not modify the plug
provided with the appliance. If the plug will not fit into the outlet, or if
you are in doubt as to whether your outlet is properly grounded, call a
qualified electrician.
WARNING
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Hardwire installation
•
This disposal must be connected to a ground, metal, permanent
wiring system; or an equipment-grounding conductor must be
run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-
grounding terminal or lead on the disposal.
