PREPARATION
1. Dismount front wheels
2. Remove brake caliper
3. Push ball joint out of the lower suspension.
4. Dismount axle stub nut and axle stub for rear-wheel drive vehicles or driveshaft nut for front-wheel
drive vehicles respectively.
5. For front-wheel drive vehicles remove driveshaft from the wheel hub. Driveshaft should not hang
down from transmission loosely. Attention, observe max. driveshaft tilt angle.
DISMOUNTING WHEEL BEARING UNIT
1. Remove ABS sensor
2. Position support plate (C) to the rear end of
the output flange, as per the illustration.
3. Fasten gear puller (B) to the swivel bearing
drill holes using the 5 original bolts. (Tighten
bolts uniformly).
4. Ensure that the ejector spindle threads and
gear puller threads are lubricated with high-
pressure grease.
5. Fasten ejector spindle (F) to the gear puller
(B), until it latches on to the support plate (C).
6. Tighten ejector spindle (F) until the wheel
bearing unit has been pushed out of the
swivel bearing.
7. Once the ejector spindle has come to an end
stop, the end of the ejector spindle may be
struck with a hammer to make it easier to
drive out.
8. Once the wheel bearing unit has been
removed from the swivel bearing, the brake disc may be taken out.
DISMOUNTING WHEEL HUB
Mount gear puller (B) and ejector spindle (F) as illustrated below.
Tighten M10 retaining bolts with nuts and washers uniformly to 80Nm.
