Installer Usage Instructions
1. Select a threaded adapter that correctly fits the threaded hole in the
end of the crankshaft. See figure k. Lightly coat the threads on the
adapter with anti-sieze compound or grease, and thread fully into
the threads in the end of the crankshaft. See figure l.
2. Note the position of the Woodruff key on the crankshaft end,
and line up the slot or keyway in the harmonic balancer with the
Woodruff key on the end of the crankshaft by hand. Make sure to
line up the keyway properly. See figures m.
3. Thread the puller center screw assembly into the threaded adapter
already installed into the end of the crankshaft. See figure n. Install the
puller flange disc onto the puller center screw assembly, making sure
the shiny or bearing side of the disc is against the flange or shoulder
on the puller body. Thread the puller body onto the puller center
screw assembly. The concave side of the puller flange disc should be
facing outward and toward the end of the puller center screw that
contains the hexagonal turning screw. See figure o.
