Freezing trials carried out with the system in CENIFER refrigerator laboratories show that at rest and at a water temp. in
the initial tank of 13 ºC, the system remains above freezing point more than three consecutive days at -10 º C, without any
sunlight.

In case of freezing, the system itself with minimum radiation, undertakes to defrost the tank water.
9.
LIGHTNING PROTECTION
We recommend that a copper cable with a diameter of at least 16 mm2 should be used to connect to the lightning arrest
system of the building.
10.
ACCUMULATOR DRAINAGE
To drain the installation it should contain:
• Cut-off valves at collector inlet and outlet.
• Drain tap at collector inlet.
• Water drainage line towards drain.
Proceed as follows for correct accumulator drainage:
1. Close the collector inlet tap: KEEP THE OUTLET TAP OPEN at the highest water point in order to purge and completely
empty the pipes of hot water. In the event that the system is the highest point it is sufficient to loosen the secondary
safety valve removing the cover from the drainage outlets and rotating the safety valve for the secondary one full turn.
2. Open the drain tap.
3. The water drainage line should be OPEN. The installer should clearly identify it in the user manual.
4. When the water ceases to come out, close the drain tap and the hot water tap or safety valve.
5. For thorough draining air at 1 bar can be injected from the purging valve.
Attention:
Drainage line temperature can reach 95ºC (before mixer).
11.
FILLING ACCUMULATOR
1. Open collector inlet tap.
2. The safety valve should be loose so that it acts as a bleed.
3. Open the tap for the highest hot water point in the installation to drain the air stored in the tank.
4. When the water drains from the safety valve, the valve should be closed, and the consumption point open.
5. When the air in the duct has been drained, the system is full and ready for proper operation.
12.
LEGIONNAIRES PREVENTION
According to Standard UNE 100030 5.1.2.1, it is not necessary to provide anti-legionnaires systems in small devices, as it
is very unlikely to be present in small accumulations. Despite this it is advisable that the installation contain some sort of
prevention.
13.
FILLING AND START-UP
The Orkli collector is factory equipped with required heat transfer fluid in the solar circuit. The primary and secondary
safety valves are factory tested. Notwithstanding the valves and the draining lines must not be obstructed.
To ensure that the tank is full to follow the steps in point 11. If your tank is empty or partially empty the level switch acts
and therefore the system does not heat.
The installer should communicate to the user that the safety works correctly (see paragraph 11 manual installer)
