APPLICATION
CAUTION
The chain guard is intended to be used with LiftMaster commercial
jackshaft operators installed on either live shaft or dead shaft doors. The
chain guard is required to comply with UL requirements for applications
where the drive chain is exposed lower than 8 feet (2.4 m).
CARTON INVENTORY
• Chain Guard (2 pieces)
• Support Bracket
• Bolt
• Flat Washer
• External Tooth Lock Washer
• Screws (3)
INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect electrical and battery power (if applicable) to the operator.
2. Remove the bolt and lock washer from the top of the operator.
3. Fasten the support bracket to the operator with the lock washer and
bolt removed from the operator, and the fl at washer provided.
4. Place the chain guard inner piece between the support bracket and
the chain. Fasten the inner piece to the support bracket through the
mounting slot using the external tooth lock washer and bolt provided.
5. . The inner piece can be moved left or right by loosening the support
bracket adjustment nut. Once the inner piece is positioned correctly,
retighten the adjustment nut.
6. Place the chain guard outer piece over the chain.
7. Secure the chain guard pieces together with the screws.
8. Reconnect electric and battery power.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH, disconnect electric
and battery power to operator BEFORE installing.
The chain guard is required to comply with UL requirements:
• Chain guard to be installed where the drive chain is exposed lower
than 8 feet (2.4 m).
• To avoid possible SERIOUS INJURY keep fi ngers clear of the
sprocket to avoid pinching fi ngers between the chain and the
sprocket.
