BeFOre usING YOur Oster® LAtIN Press
Before using your Oster® Latin Press for the first time, clean and season the cooking
surfaces:
• With the appliance unplugged, clean the cooking surfaces with a cloth or sponge
dampened with warm, soapy water. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER. Rinse with a
dampened cloth or sponge and wipe dry.
• To season the cooking surfaces plug the appliance into an electrical outlet. The red
Power On " " Indicator Light will illuminate. Allow the unit to pre-heat until the orange
Ready Indicator " " Light turns on. Wipe a small amount of butter or margarine onto the
cooking surfaces, rub lightly and wipe away any excess.
Note: When using your Latin Press for the first time you may notice a fine smoke haze
being emitted from the unit. This is normal. It is due to the initial heating of internal
components.
OPerAtING INstruCtIONs
1. Plug unit into the appropriate electrical outlet. The power light will illuminate indicating the unit
is on.
2. Place food to be prepared into the bottom cooking plate.
3. Select the desired cooking temperature according to your recipe or preference by turning the
temperature control knob clockwise.
HOW tO use tHe teMPerAture CONtrOL KNOB
MIN: This level is recommended to keep food warm once it has already been cooked.
Level 1: ( ) This level is recommended to melt cheese and melt
toppings of a pizza.
Level 2: (
) This level is recommended to prepare recipes with
fillings such as; tortillas, quesadillas, sandwiches, pita bread
sandwiches, omelets filled with potatoes and cheese, fried
eggs, omelets and pancakes.
MAX: (
) Ideal to cook meats, hamburgers, chicken fillets, fish
fillets and chicken fajitas.
4. The unit will start heating the cooking plates and the ready light
" " will illuminate indicating the selected cooking temperature has
been reached.
Note: The Indicator Light will cycle on and off during cooking.
This indicates the unit is maintaining the selected temperature.
Caution:
Touch the unit only by the handles and knob during use.
Do not touch heated surfaces.
5. When cooking is complete, use a wood or non-stick coated utensil to
remove the food. Besure to unplug unit when not in use.
