1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables
Do not roll up or pull the cord to disconnect
the appliance, and do not use it to twine the
appliance. Keep the cord away from warm
surfaces.
Never use the appliance if it has a damaged
cable or socket, or if it is not working pro-
perly.
If the power cord is damaged, do not use
your appliance. Take it to technical assistan-
ce for replacement.
This appliance has a polarized plug. To re-
duce the risk of electric shock, this plug is
intended to fit into a polarized outlet in only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not at-
tempt to modify the plug in any way.
A short power-supply cord (or detached po-
wer-supply cord) is provided to reduce risks
resulting from becoming entangled in or tri-
pping over a long cord. Longer detachable
power-supply cords or extension cords are
available and may be used if care is exerci-
sed in their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or
extension cord is used, the marked electri-
cal rating of the detachable power-supply
cord or extension cord should be at least as
high as the appliance electrical rating.
The longer cord should be arranged so that
it does not drape over the counter top or the
6
filter coffee maker
table top where it can be pulled by children
or tripped over.
1.3. Humidity and Water
Do not use your appliance in humid pla-
ces. Do not allow the appliance to become
wet under any circumstances as this may
be dangerous. TO AVOID FIRE HAZARD
OR ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT EXPOSE
YOUR APPLIANCE TO HUMIDITY OR WA-
TER. Do not place your appliance under wa-
ter (for example to wash it).
1.4. Cleaning
Before cleaning, be sure to switch off the
appliance and let it cool down completely.
To protect against electrical shock, do not
immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or
liquid.
Clean all detachable parts in hot soapy wa-
ter after each use.
Wipe the external surface of the product
with a soft, damp cloth to remove stains.
Do not attempt to clean the inside of the wa-
ter tank, as this will leave a residue of lint
and may clog your coffee maker; simply rin-
se with cold water periodically.
Water droplets may build up in the area abo-
ve the funnel and drip onto the product base
during brewing. To control the dripping, wipe
off the area with a clean, dry cloth after each
use of the product.
