Studio Flash DPS Touch 300 / DPS Touch 600
Instruction Manual
5.1 Connecting the Camera e.g. with Sync Cord
Connect your camera, sync cord and flash head as described above.
The second flash head is usually triggered by the first flash head using the photo sensor.
• Set your camera's program mode to "M" (digital or analogue SLR camera). For details read the camera's manual.
• Set the correct flash synchronization according to your camera's manual. For cameras with an extremely short synchronization time
we suggest to set the camera to an exposure of 1/125s or 1/60s.
• For an optimum exposure, we recommend to try out various aperture settings (for details see camera manual). Also you can vary the
power control of the flash heads (see specifications). We recommend to start with a medium aperture (e.g. F8) and a low flash power.
• We recommend to use a handheld exposure meter e.g. from Polaris or Gossen. They offer a multitude of or direct and incident light
metering modes.
• The modelling light assists you in finding out the correct illumination. It does not influence the final result. If you wish to save energy of
if you don't like that it heats up, you can switch it off. Please also switch the flash heads off after use.
• The first flash head can be released via sync cord, wireless remote release (optional) or via infrared flash (optional) or by the camera's
incorporated flash.
6.
Flash Failure
• The flash may fail to work for various reasons:
- Flash bulb defective
- Modelling light bulb defective
- Fuse must be replaced

Warnings
1. Due to high voltage inside the flash do not open the unit or attempt to repair it. In case of damage please
contact an authorized service agent.
2. Avoid strong light directed to the photo sensor.
3. If the unit has been triggered continuously for 10 times or more in a short period, please interrupt the operation for about
2 minutes in order to avoid overstress.
4. Make sure to switch off the flash after use.
5. The modelling light is designed to illuminate the object while the camera settings are made.
It is not suited as a permanent light since it produces high temperatures which can harm flash accessories (danger of melting).
We do not take any liability for damages caused by improper use of the flash.
