TAILLIGHT CONVERTER WIRING KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2. This Taillight Converter is designed to work on
vehicles that utilizes Pulse-Width Modulation(PWM)
on the Tail Light and Stop Light. This means that both
the Tail and Stop signals are on the same wire. Confirm that
your vehicle is wired this way before going further.
3. Locate the vehicle's wiring harness. Note: Location will
vary by model. On most trucks, full size vans and SUV' s
the harness will be located under the vehicle along the
frame rail. On most passenger cars the harness will be
located in the trunk behind the trim panels. The wiring
harness on most mini-vans and mid-size SUV' s is located
behind the rear interior trim panels or behind the jack
storage compartment.
4. Using a test (probe) light, identify the corresponding
wires in the harness for the left turn, right turn, tail/brake
lights. Note: on some vehicles the right turnmay be located
on the right (passenger) side of the vehicle.
Caution: When using a test light, take care not to pierce
completely through a wire or against the body of the
vehicle as a wiring short and potential damage to the
vehicles wiring system may occur.
5. Temporarily disconnect the vehicle's negative battery
cable from the battery.
6. Using wire taps shown in Figures 1 & 2, attach the input
wires of the taillight converter to the corresponding vehicle
harness wires identified in step 3 as follows:
Converter Yellow Wire: Left Turn Circuit
Converter Red Wire: Brake & Tail Light Circuit
Converter Green Wire: Right Turn Circuit
7. Locate a clean accessible mounting location on the
vehicle frame or a cross member near the converter within
reach of the white wire and grounding eyelet. Remove any
debris or undercoating to expose clean metal surface and
drill a 3/32" hole.
Caution: Take care not to drill through the vehicle body
or any exposed surface.
8. Mount the white wire using the ground screw and
eyelet provided.

9. Route the 12 gauge black wire from the battery
compartment under the vehicle along the frame back to the
converter module. Secure the wire to the vehicle using the cable
ties provided. If the module is mounted in the interior of the
vehicle find a suitable grommet to route the battery wire
through.
Caution: When routing wire through metal or other sharp
surfaces, always utilize an existing grommet, provide a
grommet or insulate the wire from the hole with silicone
rubber.
10. Cut the Yellow inline fuseholder and strip 5/16" of the
insulation from one end attach the 3/8" ring terminal
using a crimping tool.
11. On the other end of the fuseholder strip 5/16" of the
insulation and crimp the yellow butt connector provided and
attach it to the 12 gauge black wire.
12. With the fuse removed, attach the 3/8" ring terminal to
the vehicles positive(+) battery terminal shown in Fig. 5.
Warning: Do not attempt to connect the black power wire
to the vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory wiring.
Failure to connect directly to the vehicle battery could
cause vehicle damage and/or trailer lighting failure.
13. At rear of the vehicle, strip 5/16" of insulation from the
black 12 gauge wire and connect it to the butt connector on
the red wire on the tail light converter.
14. Reattach the vehicle Negative(-) battery wire.
15. Place the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder installed in
Step 10.
16. Confirm correct operation with a test light or by using a
trailer.
17. Secure the T-Connector black converter box using the
double-sided tape and/or the 15" cable tie provided. Secure
the remainder of the T-Connectors wires with the remaining
cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
18. Re-install all previously removed parts from
the preceeding steps.

INSTUCRCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN
Español:
