GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Based on a microcontroller and equipped with a
short circuit isolator, the digital optical smoke
detector, FDOT500 offers maximum reliability and
accuracy for smoke sensing based on Tyndall
effect.
A special algorithm supervises for smoke density
filtering false alarms performs calculation and
storage of drift compensation reference values,
which is updated only per effect of panel
command.
The FDOT500 is able to store automatically, into
its non volatile memory, thirty measures before
and thirty measures after the smoke alarm
condition.
These measures can be displayed in graphic or
in text mode on the Control Panel monitor.
This feature is very important to understand
what has happened before and after that the
alarm condition being detected.
For heat detecting, an Alarm condition will be
initiated when temperature exceed the limit of
the class A1.
The bi-colour LED (green-red), in operating
mode, indicate the detector condition while, in
service mode, it can be used to show the
detector's
address
activated from the Control Panel.
For further information refer to the manual FAP
series Control Panel's programming manual.

MAINTENANCE
(trained personnel)
The Control Panel automatically show the
detectors that need maintenance.
The interval of the maintenance depend on the
environmental condition where the detector is
installed.
When the maintenance condition for the detector
is shown on the Control Panel, it is mandatory to
clean the detection chamber to maintain optimal
operation.
Remove the detector head from the base and
press it as shown in the figure or use a suitable
tool.
Remove the cover, open the sensor chamber
and carefully clean it.
Reassemble the detector, mount it on the
connection base and execute the "Immediate
Maintenance" as described in the Control
Panel's programming manual.
