TROUBLE
The motor hums but fails to start
The motor stops suddenly
The burner stops suddenly
The burner is making a lot of smoke
The water is not hot enough

CAUSES
Voltage (volts) less
than required
The pump is jammed or frozen
Electrical extension of inadequate
cross-section
The thermal cut-out has tripped due to
overheating
There is no fuel
The electrodes are dirty
The nozzle is clogged and there is no water
pressure
The electrodes high voltage cable has
either earthed or burnt
The fuel filter is clogged
The fuel pressure is too high
The boiler is very dirty
The burner nozzle is dirty
The fuel filter is dirty
The burner's pump is not
supplying enough pressure
The pressure switch's microswitch
is out of order

REMEDIES
Check the electrical system is
adequate
Make the motor turn by hand
Refer to the table for correct use of
extensions
Check that the voltage
is as required
Disconnect the switch and leave to
cool for a few minutes
Put fuel in the tank
Clean the electrodes
Clean the nozzle, if the pump is not
pressurised the burner will not start
Change the high voltage cable
Change it
Turn the fuel pressure regulation
screws counter-clockwise
Open the cover and clean the boiler
Take it off and clean it together with
the filter, change it if necessary
Take the filter off and change it
Re-calibrate the pump according to the
recommended values
Change it
