General Safety Instructions Tightening System

Risk of electric shock. Contact with mains voltage and 320 VDC.
In case of failure nutrunner control and tool can lead to accidental electric shock. Electrical shock can lead to
cardiovascular arrest, respiratory arrest, burns and serious injury or death.
→ Take the fastening system into service only after you have read and completely understood the following
safety instructions.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in addition to the above mentioned injuries damage of the
nutrunner controller and the loss of existing warranty claims.

Notes for system operator
These safety instructions are not intended to be all inclusive.
It is mandatory that national, state and local safety and
wiring standards be followed during installation. These
standards take precedence over any information presented
in this section.
These safety instructions must be accessible to the operator
at all times. They must be shown and made available to
personnel involved in the use or repair of the equipment.

Operator training
Only qualified and trained personnel should put into
operation, adjust or test this nutrunner control. The personnel
must be instructed by qualified staff
The nutrunner control was preset by APEX. A setting for
your specific screw joint needs, must only be made with
the nutrunner control by a qualified person
information, refer to the programming manual.

Designated use
→ Use the tightening system only under the following
conditions:

Personal protective equipment
Risk of injury by being wound up in and caught by machinery:
→ When working with rotating parts, it is prohibited to wear
gloves.
→ Wear close fitting clothing.
→ If necessary, wear a hairnet.
Risk of injury due to ejected components:
→ Wear protective goggles.

Workplace
→ Always keep your workplace clean and tidy.
→ Ensure that there is enough space in the work area.
→ Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common
sense when operating a nutrunner. Do not use tool

Operating
→ Should the earth fault protector disconnect the system,
correct the cause of the high fault current before
continuing operation.
→ Never pull the plug from an outlet..
→ Keep cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts..
→ Replace damaged cables immediately.

Cleaning
→ Clean electric tool and nutrunner control only from the
outside with a damp cloth.
→ Do not use a pressure washer.

Disposal
Components and auxiliary materials of the tightening system
pose risks to health and environment.
→ Separate the components of the packing and segregate
the different materials before disposing of them.
→ Return the tool and defective nutrunner control to your
company collection facility or to a Sales & Service Center.
→ Follow the locally applicable regulations.
Observe generally valid disposal guidelines
such as, in Germany, the Electrical and
Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and the
Battery Act (Battg):
→ Wasted rechargable batteries must be
disposed of. Return defective batteries
to your company collection facility or to a
Sales & Service Center.
