6. Commissioning / Installation
You can find explanatory figures at the start of the usage instructions. The numbers in
brackets in the following text relate to Fig. IV.
Important! The pump must not run dry, i.e. without water. Otherwise the possibility
if damage cannot be ruled out!
Completely immerse the pump in your pond. Water will penetrate into the pump body.
A water level of at least 20 cm is required for operation, so that the pump does not
take in air.
Only operate the pump at a maximum immersion depth ( ) of 2 m!
The water temperature must not exceed 35°C.
The pump must be protected from freezing.
You can switch on the pump by plugging the mains plug into the socket or switch it off
by pulling the mains plug back out.
In order to avoid unnecessary soiling, position the pump in your pond above the
sludge deposits, and attach solidly and levelly (stone slab)!
You can install the supplied water feature accessories according to your needs; you
can use your respective choice from the three water feature attachments (18,19,20),
always in conjunction with the telescopic riser (17) and three-way diverter (16). To do
so, the respective water feature nozzle (18,19 or 20) is fitted directly onto the thin end
of the telescopic riser. The riser pipe is telescopic and its length can therefore be
varied by about 10 cm.
To operate the pump with the water feature accessories, you must first install the
supplied 90° elbow (21) on the side on the pump outlet.
When using the water feature, we recommend always operating the pump with the
sponge filter installed. See fig. I/3
The water feature set included in the delivery also has a ball head screw connection
(15) which should be installed directly between the pump and the telescopic riser pipe
or 3 way distributors. This screwed connection also enables the riser pipe to be
aligned vertically if the pump is positioned at a slight angle. To do this, the locking nut
must be unscrewed slightly before the adjustment is made. After adjusting, re-tighten
the locking nut well by hand.
Alternatively you can also screw the hose connection (32) which is also supplied
directly at the pump outlet, for instance to operate a filter or stream.
Adjust the hose connection ports to the size of the hose that is used; to do this, use a
standard household saw to cut off the smaller hose diameter that is not required on
the connection ports.
In the WPF 2500 S and 3500 S, the flow rate can be adjusted according to
requirements using the integrated flow rate regulator (II/2).
When operating the pump as an immersible pond filter, the sintered glass filter
material that is supplied must also be inserted into the pump cage in addition to the
sponge filter that is installed (see fig. I/4)
Always ensure that the seals we supply are properly in place and the relevant parts
are cleanly screwed together. Never use force or an unsuitable tool to try to connect
the parts.
