This line will be aligned with the middle of the wall shelf (1) of the arm (3).
The heights given are maximum heights; if the room is lower, reduce all connec-
tions in proportion. The EP3 unit should be fixed to the wall at a miminum height
of 165 cm measured from the floor to the bottom of the unit.
Warning!
All height measurements given below refer to the height of installation specified abo-
ve
Wall shelf (1)
Determine height, move 5 cm to the right of the midline and make a mark for the first
hole (fig. 2). Drill the hole (Ø 16 mm, depth 90 mm min.) which will be aligned with
the upper right hole in the wall shelf (fig. 3). Before inserting the dowel (2) in the ho-
le, clean the hole with a jet of air, then insert the dowel and tighten it slightly.
Use a level to check that the shelf is parallel and make marks for the other holes (fig.
4).
Move the wall shelf out of the way and drill the holes, then insert thedowels and tigh-
ten the whole in place, using a level to check that it is parallel (fig. 5 and 6).
Warning!
Before proceeding to assemble the arm, make sure that the four dowels hold the
shelf firmly in place.
Arm (3)
Raise the jointed arm (3) to the height of the shelf and insert the hinge pivots in
the right order, as follows.
Arm assembly sequence (fig. 8)
- Clean any traces of paint out of the holes in the shelf and in the arm;
- apply a thin layer of bearing grease in the pivot holes and on the pivots;
- position washer D in pivot C;
- insert pivots C and washer D in holes;
- position belleville washers E on shelf surface;
- raise arm using appropriate equipment (hoist, etc.);
- insert pivots in holes in shelf;
- position washer F and locknut G;
- screw in nuts G so that they permit only slight rotation;
- make sure that the weight-bearing concrete column and arm are firm.
Only after having performed connections in the shunt box (32), use the hose clamp
provided (7) to fasten the flexible sheath (6) Ø mm 90 to the arm outlet collar
(fig.7).
INSTALLING AIR TREATMENT UNIT (13 optional)
Make a mark corresponding to the first fastening point of the air treatment unit 95
cm above the ground and 40 cm to the left of the midline (13). Put the unit in pla-
ce and make a mark correponding to the other point. Drill holes 8 mm Ø and pro-
ceed to fix the air treatment unit in place and hook it up to the compressed air
supply.
Connect the 6x14 mm hose (9 - dry air) to the snap-on connection (13B).
Connect up the 10x19 mm hose (10) (lubrificated air) to the connection (13A).
Upstream from the arm arrange a 3/8 air conditioning unit (13) with central co-
upling for dry air by connecting the two dry air tube Ø 6x14 (9) and lubricated air
tube Ø 10x19 (10) as illustrated. 9.
Connect both hoses that emerging to the flexible sheath on wall
- the tube Ø 10x19 at point 13A that supplies the two sockets for pneumatic tools;
- the tube Ø 6x14 at point 13B that supplies the service air socket.
Both hoses must be fixed in place with the hose clamps provided.
ASSEMBLY OF EP3 UNIT (HB6000-HB3000)
Warning!
For correct installation, always refer to the pneumatic diagram, wiring diagram and
EP3 unit instructions manual.
Fasten chains (14) to collar of the unit using the screws provided. Screw the
threaded pipe coupling and fit the assembly onto the intake pipe forcefully. Fit the
Ø 90 corrugated hose over the collar of the unit and lock it in place with the hose
clamp provided.
Electrical connection
Connect the 3x2,5 power cable (11) emerging from the arm to the terminal board
of the unit, connecting the poles correctly.

Pneumatic connection
Connect up the Ø 6x14 (optional)(9) dry air hose and the 10x19 lubrificated air
hose (10)
as follows:
- the 10x19 hose to the Ø 12 mm hose connection supplying the two outlets for
pneumatic tools;
- the 6x14 hose to the Ø 7 mm hose connection supplying the utility air
outlet (optional).
Both hoses must be fixed in place with the hose clamps provided.
START-UP
Minimum power supply requisites and connections:
Electric mains - Single-phase voltage 230V 50/60Hz with grounding wire
ated mm
2
2.5.
Compressed air mains - Working pressure not over 8 bar; the mains must supply
dehumidified and filtered air.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Arm HF6000
Electrical tool connections
- Insert the tool plug in the socket on the arm socket (15) (fig. 3);
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way (27) link
using the sleeve (28) (fig. 5);
- do not connect tools with loads over their rated capacity (2x800 W max) to the
electrical sockets.
Pneumatic tool connections
- Connect the compressed air supply hose to the vacuum quick coupling (18);
connect the other end to the tool;
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way (27) link
using the sleeve (optional).
Preliminary checks
- Check that the vacuum hose is properly fixed and does not hinder tool move-
ment;
- check that there are not leaks from the compressed air supply system.
Only after having performed connections should you proceed with a brief operating
trial of the tools following their instructions.
Arm HB6000-HB3000 (with unit EP3)
Electrical tool connections
- Insert the tool's plug into the socket on the unit;
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way link using
the sleeve;
- do not connect tools with loads over their rated capacity (2x800 W max) to the
electrical sockets.
Pneumatic tool connections
- Connect the compressed air hose to the rapid fitting on the unit (20); connect
the other end to the tool;
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way (30) link
using the sleeve (optional) (48).
MACHINE USE
Arm HF6000-HF3000
The machine operates in manual mode: turn the switch (21) to start the dust va-
shelf,
as follows:
cuum turbine.
Arm HB6000-HB3000 (complete with unit EP3)
The machine operates in manual mode: turn the switch on the EP3 unit to start
the dust vacuum turbine.
Automatic operations (optional)
EP3 units for HB arms(in versions "A" and "C") are equipped with sensors for au-
tomatic operations: the turbine automatically starts when the electric or pneuma-
tic tool is turned on. When finished, turn the tool off and the turbine will stop au-
tomatically after 1 minute. Additionally, unit versions "C" is equipped with an au-
tomatic vacuum flow cut-off system (CUT-OFF).
MAINTENANCE
The manufacturer or an authorised representative must carry out a technical ope-
rating inspection of the machine controls and check for any damage to the ma-
chine's filtering system at least once a year. RUPES Spa is not liable for any di-
rect or indirect damages due to failure to comply with the instructions provided in
this manual.
Ordinary maintenance (by the user)
- Check the conditions of the vacuum hoses ;
- keep the arm clean and dry.
Extraordinary maintenance (by the authorised service center)
- Periodically check the conditions of electrical wires and plugs; if they are
damaged or worn replace;
- check the compressed air supply tube and relevant coupling conditions.
