INSTRUCTIONS
This power supply changes mains alternating current to touch-safe low
voltage. In the event that the power supply is equipped with a voltage selector
this should be checked to ensure that it is correctly positioned before use.
The power supply is only designed for indoor use and should not come into
contact with water or dust. To prevent overheating the power supply should not
be covered when it is in use.
The mains socket should be easily accessible. In the event of operational error,
the plug should be immediately removed from the socket.
The power supply is started up when the plug is inserted in the socket. To turn
off the power supply, the plug should be removed from the socket.
In the event that the power supply is equipped with a mains cable, ensure that
the cable is not damaged. In the event that the mains cable becomes damaged,
then the power supply should not be used.
The power supply contains dangerous voltages and the cover should not be
removed. All service or maintenance work should be carried out by qualified
personnel who can get assistance by contacting the manufacturer's agent.
A fuse protects the power supply against short circuiting and overloading. In
the event that the fuse needs to be replaced, the same type and size of fuse
should always be used.
In the event that the power supply has this symbol on it, it is double-insulated
(in insulation class II). In the event that the power supply does not carry this
symbol, it falls into insulation class I. If a power supply in insulation class I is
connected to a wide communications network, then it should be connected to
an earthed socket.
The power supply can also be connected to a mains supply, type IT.
In the event that the power supply is labelled "EN60601-1" it complies with the
requirements of electro-medical equipment and can be used in hospital
environments, etc.. The power supply should not be used in the vicinity of
flammable anaesthesia gases.
In the event that the power supply is delivered with an outlet cable with a
modular plug (identical to, but not the same as a telephone plug), this should
never be put into a telephone outlet.
If the product is supplied with an exchangeable output plug, refer to the last
page for assembly.
If the power supply has plastic casing, avoid it coming into contact with oils,
grease etc, as most types of plastic can be broken down by chemicals and
solvents.
