3. Use
1. Remove the batteries and switch off your rechargeable appliance.
2. Select the right voltage: use a small screwdriver to turn the recessed arrow until it indicates the correct voltage.
3. Determine whether your cell phone is centre positive or centre negative. Most portables have the following
markings on or near the input socket showing voltage and polarity:
When the centre is linked to a + sign, it is then centre-positive.
When the centre is linked to a – sign, it is then centre negative.
4. Set the polarity for the output plug:
The only marking on the cable socket reads "TIP", but the supplied output plugs have two markings: a "+" and a "-
"just above the pins.

5. Connect the power adapter with your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. The LED comes if the connection is made
properly.
6. Double-check the polarity and voltage settings.
7. Connect the output plug with your mobile appliance.
8. Switch on your mobile appliance as usual.
4. Troubleshooting
If the power indicator LED doesn't come on:
- There is no DC power from the cigarette lighter socket. Try the cigarette lighter to see if it works
- There may be a bad contact in the cigarette lighter socket.
- The metal contact strips are not making contact with the socket. Check the spring action of the metal strip
and turn the plug slowly until the LED comes on.
- The 2A fuse needs to be replaced. Turn the plastic sleeve anticlockwise to be able to replace the fuse.
If the power indicator LED comes on but the connected mobile appliance doesn't work:
- Check to see if the mobile appliance has been switched on.
- Check the voltage and polarity settings.
- Make sure the connection to the mobile appliance is secure.
