This appliance must be protected by a suitable fuse.
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this product to rain, water or
moisture.
There are no user serviceable parts inside except those referred to in this
manual.
Always refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Never remove any part of
the casing unless qualified to do so; this unit contains dangerous voltages.
Use of a residual current device will reduce the risk of electric shock.
Dangerous environment
Do not use power tools in damp or wet conditions, or expose them to rain.
Provide adequate surrounding work space and keep area well lit. Do not use
power tools where there is a risk of explosion or fire from combustible material,
flammable liquids, flammable gases, or dust of an explosive nature. When using
power tools avoid contact with any earthed items such as pipes, radiators,
cookers, refrigerators, metal baths and taps.
Protect yourself from vibration
Hand held power tools may produce vibration. Vibration can cause disease.
Gloves to keep the operator warm may help to maintain good blood circulation
in the fingers. Hand held tools should not be used for long periods without a
break.
Maintain your power tool
Ensure all ventilation holes are kept clear at all times. Overheating and fire may
otherwise result.
Always Disconnect
Before changing fittings or accessories, always ensure that your tool is
disconnected from the power source.
Switch off before connecting
Ensure that the power tool is switched off before connecting to the power
source. If the power tool stops unexpectedly, turn the power switch to off.
Do not abuse the power cord
Be sure your cable or extension cable is in good condition. Always have a
damaged cable or extension cable replaced at an authorised service centre
before using it. Never yank or pull the cable to disconnect it from the power
socket. Never carry your tool by its cable. Keep the cable away from damp,
heat, oil, solvents, and sharp edges.
Don't leave the tool running unattended
Always wait until your tool has completely stopped functioning, and has been
unplugged, before leaving it.
Cutting Tool Safety
Protect your eyes
Always wear proper eye protection when using cutting tools. Everyday glasses
are not designed to offer any protection when using this product. Normal lenses
are not impact resistant and could shatter.
Protect your breathing
Always wear proper face or dust mask when work creates dust. Be aware of
exposing others around you to dust.
Protect your hearing
Always use proper hearing protection when tool noise exceeds 80dB.
Be aware of others around you
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that other people in the vicinity of the
work area are not exposed to dangerous noise or dust. Ensure that all persons
who require it are provided with suitable protective equipment.
Direction of feed
Feed work into the blade or cutter against the direction of movement of the
blade or cutter only.
Use the correct cutting tool
Ensure that your cutting tool is suitable for the job. Always refer to product
literature before use. Do not assume that a tool is suitable without checking.
Fitting cutting tools
Ensure that cutting tools are correctly and securely fitted prior to use. Check
that any wrenches or adjustors are removed prior to use.
Only use cutting tools recommended for your machine.
Do not attempt to modify cutting tools.
Beware of heat
Be aware that cutting tools, and work pieces, may become hot in use. Do not
attempt to change tools until they have been allowed to cool fully.
Foreign objects
Beware of foreign objects in cutting material. Fully inspect your cutting material
for any form of foreign bodies before cutting.
Do not cut any material that contains foreign bodies, unless you are sure that
the cutting tool fitted to your machine is suitable for the job.
Hidden objects
Beware of any hidden objects. Walls may conceal wiring and piping, car body
panels may conceal fuel lines, and long grass may conceal stones and glass.
Always check your work area thoroughly before beginning to cut.
Control waste
Do not allow dust or swarf to build up. Saw dust is a fire hazard, and some
metal swarf is explosive.
Be especially careful with machines used to cut wood, and metal. Sparks from
metal cutting are a common cause of wood dust fires.
Where possible, use a dust extraction system to ensure a safer working
environment.
Beware of projected waste
In some situations, waste material may be projected at speed from the cutting
tool. Ensure that there are no other persons within the work area. If it is
necessary to have other persons nearby, it is the user's responsibility to make
sure that they are equipped with the correct protective equipment.
Jigsaw Safety
Be aware that the cutting blade will project from the underside of the work
piece. Ensure that all supports and power cables are well clear of the cutting
path.
Do not attempt to cut material thicker than detailed in the above specifications.
Always ensure that an appropriate blade is used for the material being cut.
Do not force the blade to bend or twist whilst cutting.
Always keep the shoe pressed against the workpiece.
Only use blades of the type described in the specification. Other types of blade
may not be properly secured and are a safety hazard.
If a cut does not extend to the edge of the work piece, allow the blade to come
to a complete stop before lifting out of cut.
Be aware that the blade will be hot after cutting. Allow to cool fully before
handling.
If a blade becomes jammed, disconnect machine from mains the supply before
attempting to free blade.
This saw should only be used as instructed. Never attempt to mount this saw to
any kind of saw bench or stand.
Be aware that jigsaws will cause the workpiece to vibrate. If not properly
supported, work may be damaged by excessive vibration
