4. Turn the choke lever to "1".

TIP
The choke is not required to start a warm engine. Turn
the choke lever to the original position.
5. Pull the recoil starter slowly until it is engaged,
then pull it briskly.
WARNING
Be careful to use the recoil starter. In rare cases,
the recoil starter handle can be drawn back quickly
by the engine kickback.
TIP
Grasp the carrying handle firmly to prevent the gener-
ator from falling over when pulling the recoil starter.
6. After the engine starts, warm up the engine until
the engine does not stop when the choke lever is
returned to the original position.
