1. General safety information
The operating instruction has to be considered
as:
• part of the product
• must be read by the operator before starting
and must be followed during operation
• must be handed over to any following owners
or users of the product
• must be completed by the user for any additional
received addendum.
Principles of safety
The apparatus is constructed in conformity with the state
of the art and approved safety-related standards. Danger
however can occur during use if:
• it is operated by unskilled personnel
• it is used improperly
• maintenance or service is incorrectly.
The national accident prevention and environmental
regulations must be observed without fail.
In these operating instructions the following symbols
are used:
Danger!
Refers to a threatening danger.
Non-observance of the precaution will cause death
or injury.
Caution!
Defines a harmful situation.
Non-observance of the precaution can cause dam-
age of property.
i
Important!
Defines hints for application and other useful
information.
2. Proper use
The flow meter TR90 consists of a measuring chamber
with a turbine wheel and a cover containing the electronic
evaluating unit as well as display and keyboard. The
turbine wheel has a magnet pair which in the case of
volume flow transfers the counting impulses to a reed
switch on the electronic evaluating unit. The accuracy
of the displayed value can be adjusted with a calibration
factor to the application. Displayed is either a resettable
partial volume or after pressing the key "Total" the total
volume.
The flow meter TR90 is used for measuring liquid vol-
umes where gauging metering is not required. The flow
meter is suitable for stationary use.
Danger!
The metering of non-compatible liquids damages
the flow meter.
Splashing liquid can cause injury.
Check by means of the materials indicated in the
technical data and a resistance table (e. g. Lutz
resistance table) whether the flow meter is suit-
able for the delivered liquid.
Danger!
Fire and explosion hazard due to delivered liq-
uid!
Combustion hazard. Blast wave: Flying parts can
kill you.
The flow meter is not explosion proof. It is not
allowed to put the flow meter into operation in-
side of hazardous location and with flammable
liquids.
Danger!
Exceeding the temperature range and the operat-
ing pressure causes damage to the flow meter.
Splashing liquid or flying parts can cause injury.
The ranges indicated in the technical data for
temperature of liquid and operating pressure have
to be observed.
