Installing your solar panel

Selecting a location for the installation
It is critical to install the solar panel in a sun-facing location that is free
of shadows all year. This direction will be south in the northern
hemisphere.
In winter, the sun sits very low on the horizon and shadows may be
cast by distant objects. Even partial shading from objects such as tree
branches will significantly reduce the available output current, and the
batteries may not receive sufficient charge.
Finding true south
The highest amount of solar energy will be obtained when the solar panel faces true south
(northern hemisphere).
You will need a compass to help you find this optimal true direction.
