Replacing Tee Fitting
Determine whether or not you need to replace the pressure
NOTE:
switch tee fitting as part of the recirculating harness repair. If you are
replacing the tee fitting use the following instructions:
1.
Follow the wire from the heater to the pressure switch installed in
the 1" PVC tee fitting in the whirlpool harness.
2.
Cut the tee fitting from the harness.
3.
Replace with a standard 1" X 1" X 1" tee fitting with couplings and
piping as needed. Orient the tee above horizontal to help ensure
that the whirlpool harness will drain, then glue in place with PVC
cement.
Orient the screw in the switch housing to be accessible for future

4.
Locate the pressure switch housing of the replacement heater. Glue
the switch housing to the open port on the tee fitting with PVC
cement. DO NOT ALLOW THE CEMENT TO BLOCK THE
ORIFICE ON THE SWITCH or the heater will not operate.
5.
Replace the heater according to the instructions in this manual.
