IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Read and understand all of the safety precautions, warnings and operating instructions in the Instruction
Manual before operating or maintaining this blower/vacuum cleaner.
Most accidents that result from blower/vacuum cleaner operation and maintenance are caused by the failure
to observe basic safety rules or precautions. An accident can often be avoided by recognizing a potentially
hazardous situation before it occurs, and by observing appropriate safety procedures.
Basic safety precautions are outlined in the "SAFETY" section of this Instruction Manual and in the sections
which contain the operation and maintenance instructions.
Hazards that must be avoided to prevent bodily injury or machine damage are identifi ed by WARNINGS on
the blower/vacuum cleaner and in this Instruction Manual.
NEVER use this blower/vacuum cleaner in a manner that has not been specifi cally recommended by
metabo HPT.
MEANINGS OF SIGNAL WORDS
WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situations which, if ignored, could result in death or serious
injury.
CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situations which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate
injury, or may cause machine damage.
NOTE emphasizes essential information.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

To reduce the risk of fi re, electric shock, or
injury:

Use indoors only.
Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
2.
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention
is necessary when used by or near children.
3.
Use only as described in this manual. Use only
manufacturer's recommended attachments.
4.
Do not handle appliance with wet hands.
5.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
6.
Do not operate blower/vacuum cleaner
in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of fl ammable or combustible liquids,
gasses or dust.

Do not use to pick up fl ammable or combustible
liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where
they may be present.
8.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or
smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot
ashes.
9.
Never use when the temperature is below 23°F
(-5°C) or above 104°F (40°C).
10. Do not put any object into openings.
Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free
of dust, line, hair, and anything that may reduce
air fl ow.
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fi ngers, and all parts
of body away from openings and moving.
