Use of illumination

The OPTIGEM microscope comes with an integrated LED illumi-
nation system that consists of three separate light sources:
1. Incident illumination: through a flexible arm attached to the
microscope stage.
2. Transmitted illumination: from the hole of the microscope
stage.
3. Darkfield illumination: a LED ring inside the stage hole.
By turning the switch ③ on the left side of the base (Fig. 16), the
different observation methods can be selected.
The switch has four available position (Fig. 17):
a) Transmitted light illumination
b) Darkfield illumination
c) Darkfield illumination combined with Incident illumination
d) Incident light illumination
The transmitted light illumination has an additional option: the
slider ④ (Fig. 18) allows observation in bright field (a) or "velvet"
dark field (b) (Fig. 19) by simply moving the slider to the left or
to the right.
