The Port Replicator can be plugged into your Joybook S52 Series notebook computer to
extend the number of external peripheral devices it can handle.
The following illustrates where the various ports on the Port Replicator are located and
describes what each is for.

1. Port Replicator Connector
The Port Replicator Connector is to be connected to the Port Replicator slot in the back of
your Joybook S52 Series notebook computer.
2. DC Power Jack
The DC power jack allows you to plug in the AC adapter to power your Joybook.
Use only the supplied AC adapter with your computer. Other adapters can cause serious dam-
age to the electronic circuits.
3. PS/2 Port
The PS/2 port allows you to connect an external keyboard, and/or numeric keypad and
mouse. In order to connect a PS/2 interface device, follow these easy steps:
1. Align the connector with the port opening.
2. Push the connector into the port until it is seated.
A mouse, keyboard, or keypad may be installed and automatically recognized by your note-
book without restarting or changing setups.
4. VGA Port
The external monitor port allows you to connect an external monitor. In order to connect an
external monitor, follow these easy steps:
1. Align the connector with the port opening.
2. Push the connector into the port until it is seated.
3. Tighten the two hold-down screws located on each end of the connector.
5. Serial Port
The serial port allows you to connect serial devices to your Joybook
