2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
voltage . Never make any modifi-
cation on the unit not described
in these instructions; inexpert
handling may result in electric
shock .
The unit is suitable for indoor use only . Pro-
tect it against dripping water, splash water
and high air humidity . The admissible am-
bient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C .
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e . g .
drinking glasses, on the unit .
Immediately disconnect the mains plug from
the socket
1 . if the unit or the mains cable is visibly
damaged,
2 . if a defect might have occurred after the
unit was dropped or suffered a similar ac-
cident,
3 . if malfunctions occur .
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel .
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug .

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use water or chemicals .
No guarantee claims for the unit and no li-
ability for any resulting personal damage or
material damage will be accepted if the unit
is used for other purposes than originally in-
tended, if it is not correctly connected, or if it
is not repaired in an expert way .
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment .
3 Applications
The antenna splitter UA-960 is designed for op-
erating up to four UHF receivers from JTS (mod-
els UF-..., US-... or IN-...) equipped with de-
tachable reception antennas . When more than
four receivers are operated, the jacks CASCADE
(8) can be used to connect multiple UA-960
in series . Each antenna splitter will be able to
supply four receivers with power .
The UA-960 makes it easier to set up the
audio transmission system: Only two of the an-
tennas supplied with each receiver (one pair for
each receiver) are required for connection to
the antenna splitter; all other antennas and the
power supply units of the receivers are not re-
quired . The splitter will send the antenna signals
to the receivers and supply the receivers with
power . Matching connection cables are supplied .
To boost the antenna signals, two antenna
signal amplifiers UB-900I can be inserted
between the antennas and the UA-960 . The
UA-960 will also supply the amplifiers with
.
power .
4 Operation
4.1 Preparation and setting up
1) When the antenna signal amplifier UB-
900I is used, the 12 V supply voltage for
this amplifier must be available at the jacks
ANT. A and ANT. B (7). Prior to operation,
please make sure that the correspond-
ing switch for the supply voltage in the
unit (fig. 2 on page 2) has been set to the
position ON.
WARNING Always disconnect the mains
2) To install the reception antennas on the front
panel of the UA-960, insert the two BNC
jack-to-jack adapters supplied with the unit
into the mounting holes on the left and on
the right and screw them on (refer to fig. 1
on page 2).
3) Place the antenna splitter on a flat surface
or install it into a rack for units with a width
of 482 mm (19"). For installation into a rack,
1 rack space (= 44.45 mm) is required.

4.2 Connection and switching on
The connection options can be found in fig . 3
on page 2 .
1) Connect the low voltage jacks DC Output (6)
to the power supply jacks of the receivers.
2) Connect the antenna pair of one of the re-
ceivers to the antenna inputs of the splitter:
– either to the two jacks (1) on the front
panel of the unit; in this case, connect the
rear side (4) of these jacks to the jacks ANT.
A and ANT. B (7)
– or directly to the two jacks ANT. A and ANT.
B (7) on the rear panel of the unit.
To boost the antenna signals, two antenna
amplifiers UB-900I, with their antennas at-
tached, can be connected to the antenna
inputs.
3) Connect the two antenna inputs of each re-
ceiver to an antenna output ANT. A OUTPUT
and to the corresponding antenna output
ANT. B OUTPUT (9).
4) Finally, connect the mains cable provided to
the mains jack (5) and connect the mains
plug of the cable to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5) To switch the antenna splitter on or off, press
the button POWER (3). When the unit is
switched on, the power LED (2) will light up.
Notes:
1. If the antenna splitter provides power to 4 receiv-
ers, the switch-on power of all receivers may be
too high; the power supply unit of the splitter
will not start. In this case, briefly switch off one
of the receivers.
2. If the UA-960 not used for a longer period of
time, disconnect the mains plug from the mains
socket. Otherwise, there will be low power con-
sumption even when the unit is switched off.
