5. Step 3: Screw in the mandrel matching your needs in size and put
back what you just removed in step 1. Change the nosepiece to
match the mandrel size. Make sure everything is tightened.
6. Step 4: Fix the riveter onto the driving tool.
V. Operating instructions
1. Ensure that everything is WELL TIGHTENED before use and be
careful that this remains as it is by CHECKING REGULARLY.
2. Make sure the rivet nut is fully engaged with the threaded mandrel
(Figure 3).
3. IMPORTANT: Test the riveter with a rivet nut on a test piece to
determine the adequate torque needed to match with your rivet nut
size, material and your workpiece thickness.
4. You MUST HOLD the riveter fi rmly by the grip areas with thick
gloves when using it. The riveter should not rotate.
5. Drive FORWARD (clockwise) to withdraw rivet nut to have contact
with nosepiece (Figure 4).
6. Align the riveter as best as you can with the drilled hole and insert
the rivet nut into it.
7. Drive FORWARD until the rivet nut is set.
WARNING: Do not over set rivet nuts. Over set rivet nuts may per-
manently damage the thread in the rivet nut, rendering them useless.
8. Drive BACKWARD (anti-clockwise) to release the nosepiece from
riveted rivet nut.
VI. Maintenance
1. Clean the components of plunger tube and re-lubricate its parts, at
least on a yearly basis.
2. Recommended: lubricate mandrel and nosepiece regularly.
3. Mandrel replacement: life span varies with usage frequency; we
recommend replacing it along with its nosepiece before it is too
worn out.

Solutions
Always use quality rivet nuts. We recommend
using those sold by Rapid.
Follow the instructions; always start with low
torque level and low speed and increase it
until the result is good. You should always try
on a test piece to ensure you have the right
settings.
Replace the mandrel with a new one.
Always follow the instructions: keep the rivet-
er aligned with the hole angle as best as you
can during riveting and releasing mandrel.
