Battery Inspection

WARNING 
Electrolytes from the battery can cause blindness and
burns. DO NOT use the battery if there is damage,
leakage or burns. DO NOT use the battery if you hear
unusual noises, see smoke, or smell odors. DO NOT use
the battery if the casing is cracked, gashed, bulging,
warped, or damaged.
Examine the battery for damage. Do not use the battery if the
casing is cracked, gashed, bulging, warped, or damaged. Do
not use the battery if the terminals are stripped, damaged,
bent or missing. If the battery is damaged, speak to an
Authorized Service Dealer for instructions.
Clean the Battery
NOTICE You can use a pressure washer to clean the battery,
but DO NOT use a 0° nozzle. Pressure washer spray must be
a minimum 12 inches from the battery.
NOTE: When you clean the battery, the mating circular
communication connector must stay attached to make sure
that it has an environmental seal.
WARNING 
The battery has a risk of high short circuit current.
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
Wear safety glasses or approved eye protection when
you work near the battery.
Use tools that have insulated handles.
Disconnect the charging source before you connect or
disconnect the battery terminals.
Do not put tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
WARNING 
Keep the battery in a dry, clean area away from
flammable materials, such as newspaper, trash, leaves,
or other debris.
DO NOT use harsh chemicals, or powdered abrasives
to clean the battery.
Clean the battery more frequently in coastal
environments that have sea salt spray.
Avoid direct spray at cable connections and breather
ports.

Battery Service

WARNING 
NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS. DO NOT OPEN
BATTERY. Contact a Briggs & Stratton Authorized
Service Dealer.
Contact an Authorized Service Dealer for all service
instructions. Do not disassemble the battery for inspection,
maintenance, or repair. All service must be done by an

Disposal and Recycling
Lithium-ion batteries must be collected and recycled
separately from other waste. Do not discard lithium-ion
batteries as municipal waste. Contact an Authorized Battery
Service Dealer for disposal and recycling instructions.
Storage

Battery Storage

WARNING 
Use and keep the battery in an area with good airflow,
away from sparks, open flames, or excessive heat.
NOTICE Incorrect storage can cause battery damage,
permanent loss of battery capacity, or cause the battery to be
unserviceable. If a fully discharged battery is in storage, the
battery will become permanently unserviceable. Do not
exceed the storage temperature limits.
For storage up to 1 month, keep the equipment at the
recommended range of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140
°F). For storage up to 1 year, keep the equipment at the
recommended range of -20 °C to +25 °C (-4°F to +77°F).
If you keep the equipment outside the recommended
temperature range, decrease battery performance will occur,
and result in life cycle degradation.
NOTE: Long-term storage at temperatures less than 77 °F
(25 °C) is recommended.
Do not remove the battery or disconnect it from the
equipment.
Do not keep the battery in long-term storage with the battery
connected to the charger, or a reduction in battery cycle
life can occur.
When the battery is not used for more than a month, charge
or discharge it to a state of charge of 40-70%.
