I N S T A L L A T I O N
WARNING
Remove all tape and packaging before using the appliance. Discard the
packaging after unpacking the appliance. Never allow children to play
with packaging material.

Prepare the cabinet

NOTES: A. The internal height of cabinet has to be minimum 15", unless
the exhaust ductwork is confi gured horizontally; in this case,
the minimum internal height of the cabinet should be 23'' in
order to allow enough room for the 90° elbow.
B. The hood should be mounted centered over the cooktop
burners.
The cabinet must be heat-resistant up to 194° F (90 °C).
The stability of the cabinet must also be ensured after the cut-out work.
1. Cut a hole in the bottom of the cabinet, using the dimensions shown.
2. Make the cut-out for the exhaust air duct and the house wiring cable
on top of the cabinet.
NOTE:
If the hood will be installed non-ducted, a cut-out must also be
made in the cabinet to allow air to exhaust through a grill (not
included).
After the cut out work is complete, remove the shavings.
6½" or 8½" dia.
(165 mm or 216 mm dia.)
3. Center and secure 2 wood blocks
height x 7¼" maximum long (thickness to fill but not exceed the space
inside the cabinet), on left and right sides of the hole, fl ush to the edges
(fastening screws for wood blocks are not included).

Prepare the hood

1. Disassemble both sections of the electrical compartment cover (grey
parts in illustration below) from inside the hood by removing the
3 retaining screws. Set aside the cover sections along with the screws.
2. Punch out the knock-out hole on top of the unit (A), then install a
7/8'' diameter UL approved strain relief (B) (not included).

3. Secure the included 6'' diameter duct connector (for VCI3B30ZS
or VCI3B36ZS model) or the included 8'' round duct connector
(for VCI6B30ZS or VCI6B36ZS model) to the top of the hood using
4 no. 8 x 3/8''
screws (included in parts bag). Seal the joint with aluminum
duct tape.
NOTE:
If the hood will be installed non-ducted, remove both damper
fl aps from duct connector.
