Faulty maintenance
Always check the trampoline before use for torn or worn mats and cover mats,
bent frames, missing parts, loose or broken springs and frame stability.
Defective or worn parts must be replaced immediately. The trampoline must
not be used until it has been fully restored.
Bad weather
The trampoline should only be used in good weather. A wet jumping mat is too
slippery to jump properly. If the wind is gusty or strong, there is a risk that you
will lose control of the jump. This trampoline is intended for indoor use.
Unrestricted access
As soon as the trampoline is not in use, the entrance should be closed so that
children cannot play on the trampoline unsupervised.
METHODS FOR ACCIDENT PREVENTION
Users:
A 'must' is the basic knowledge of the trampoline. It is important to learn how
to perform a low and controlled jump, besides the basic landing positions and
combinations, before starting advanced jumping exercises. It is important
that users understand why the jumps need to be done in a controlled way. A
controlled jump is characterised by the fact that the jump and the landing take
place in the same place (see section:
'Basic jumping techniques'. You can get more information about exercise
material from trained trampoline instructors.
Supervisor:
Safety rules should be strictly followed and enforced by the supervisor. All
users of the trampoline should be informed by the supervisor. If supervision
cannot be guaranteed, the trampoline must be dismantled. In addition, users
must be informed of the warnings by the supervisor.
