Inserting the battery

Remove the battery cover (4) from the
calliper by pushing it in the direction of the
arrow and insert a 1.5 V LR44 button cell
battery. Check that the battery is the right
way round and replace the cover.
Replace the battery when the calliper no
longer works or when the fi gures on the
display fl ash.
Remove the battery if the calliper is not to be
used for a long period.
Use
Start the calliper by pressing the on/off
button (10). Select the relevant measurement
unit using the toggle switch (3), which
switches between millimetres (mm) and
inches (in).
Squeeze the jaws for external measurement
(1) together so that they just touch one
another and reset the calliper using the reset
button (9).
Measure the external distance using the jaws
(8), the internal distance using the jaws (1)
or depth using the depth gauge (6). Read off
the result on the display. It is possible to take
relative measurements. Pressing the reset
button provides a new zero point which you
can then measure from.
Turn the calliper off by pressing the on/off
button.
Cleaning
Wipe down with a damp cloth. A small
amount of detergent can be applied if
required. Do not allow any form of liquid to
penetrate the calliper!
Ensure the calliper is kept free from dust and
dirt.
