10.13 Use of the pointer (B-510-2/2F/3/5)
1. By moving the joystick of the pointer
the position of the luminous arrow within the observation
field. (Fig. 67)
2. This arrow is used by the teacher to indicate an interesting
portion within the observed sample.
3. Press the colour selection button
switch to change the colour of the light arrow. Repeated
pressure cyclically changes the colour in this sequence: RED
→ GREEN → BLUE → OFF. (Fig. 68)
4. Turn the intensity control switch
of the arrow (Fig. 69). Adjust the intensity according to the
sample under examination.
10.14 Use of the polarizer (optional)
1. Remove the specimen from the stage.
2. Looking inside the eyepieces, rotate the polarizer until the
darkest position is achieved.
3. Once the dark is achieved ("extinction" or "Crossed Nicol"
position) it is possible to begin the observation.
