Safety instructions
sioning, maintenance or repair of the module must have read and understood
the User Manuals and in particular the technical safety instructions.
Remaining dangers
The scope of supply and performance of the module covers only a small area
of measurement technology. In addition, equipment planners, installers and
operators should plan, implement and respond to the safety engineering con
siderations of measurement technology in such a way as to minimize remain
ing dangers. Prevailing regulations must be complied with at all times. There
must be reference to the remaining dangers connected with measurement
technology. After making settings and carrying out activities that are password-
protected, you must make sure that any controls that may be connected
remain in safe condition until the switching performance of the module has
been tested.
Product liability
In the following cases, the protection provided for the device may be adversely
affected. Liability for device functionality then passes to the operator:
S The device is not used in accordance with the operating manual.
S The device is used outside the field of application described in this chapter.

Working safely
Error messages should only be acknowledged once the cause of the error is
removed and no further danger exists.
The equipment complies with the EMC standards of EN 61326-1:2012. These
standards define emission limits and immunity requirements for multiple envi

With respect to emissions, the standards contain limits for industrial (class A)
and residential / commercial (class B) environments. The standard herein ref
erences CISPR 11:2009+A1:2010.
With respect to immunity, the standards contain limits for electromagnetic pro
tected (lowest requirements), general and industrial (highest requirements)
environments.
