5 Connection and operation
5.1 Connection
NOTICE!
• Disconnect the power supply to the splitter before
connecting or disconnecting your source and output
devices via the HDMI™ sockets.
See Fig. 2.
1. Connect one source device to the HDMI™ socket
(input) (2) of the splitter.
2. Connect two output devices to the HDMI™ sockets
(output) (3) of the splitter.
Connection cables are not included in the delivery.
Make sure that the source and output devices as well
as the connection cables support the resolutions and
standards of the product!
3. Connect the USB-A plug (8) of the charging cable to
the USB-A socket (7) of the power supply.
4. Plug the Euro plug (6) of the power supply into a
free and easily accessible socket.
5. Connect the micro USB plug (9) of the charging ca-
ble to the micro USB socket (1) of the splitter.
The splitter is now supplied with power.
6. Disconnect all cable connections after use.
5.2 EDID function
The splitter has an additional EDID function (EDID =
Extended Display Identification Data). This function is
used to correct possible display errors. If you are satis-
fied with the display on both output devices, you do not
need to make any further adjustments. To use this func-
tion, the connected units must support the Auto EDID
function.
By pressing the EDID key (4) you can choose between
2 modes:
• Copy EDID (A): In this setting, the same resolution
is displayed on both output devices. The output de-
vice connected to the HDMI™ socket (output, OUT
1) determines the resolution.
If the output device on OUT 1 supports a higher re-
solution (e.g. 4K) than the output device on OUT 2
(e.g. 1080p), then the function is not supported and
the output devices will display a different resolution.
Under certain circumstances, no picture is displayed
on output device OUT 2.
• Mixed EDID (B): In this setting, a different resolution
is displayed on the output devices.
The desired resolution can be selected in the set-
tings of the output devices.
