Setting up the system
1. Placement
»alarmo« scans and analyses the noises
within its environment for sounds typical of
smoke detectors and similar alarm systems.
In order to assist this function, »alarmo«
should be placed as close as possible to
the sound source of the alarm, which is to
be monitored (e. g. on a shelf underneath a
smoke detector).
In order to gain the best possible transmissi-
on range, please note the following reccom-
mendatios:
- The transmitter should not be placed close
to devices emitting intense interferation,
like TV screens, computer monitors or
mobile phones.
- The transmitter should not be placed on
objects made of metal, as the transmission
range is diminished by the metallic shiel-
ding effect.
Note:
The device is not able of identifying, recor-
ding or even transmitting voices and spoken
conversation.
Therefore there is no possible invasion or
endangerment of the user's privacy.
2. Mains operation
Insert the plug at the end of the 12 V power
supply into the corresponding connector on
the rear side of the »alarmo«.
Then plug the power supply unit into a
mains power socket in your room.

Power failure backup
Please note that the device is designed for
mains operation.
The rechargeable battery is used as back-
up only in the event of a power failure.
The stand-by time of the battery is approx.
2 hours.
3. Connecting the rechargeable battery
(included)
Open the battery compartment by sliding
the cover to the right of the device using
your thumb.
To connect the rechargeable battery, insert
the battery plug into the outlet in the battery
compartment.
The battery is charged when »alarmo« is
connected with the mains power supply.
The battery has a charging time of 12
hours. Use and charge only the special
battery A-2995-0.
2. Setting the correct radio channel
A special digital transmission process en-
sures that the radio signals are picked up
without errors. This process also makes it
possible to set 10 different radio channels.
When supplied from the factory, all RF lisa-
devices are set to channel 0. It is only ne-
cessary to set units to other channels if you
have several different users operating RF
lisa systems in the same building. Set the
required channel by using a small screwdri-
ver to turn the channel selector switch,
which is located on the right side of the unit,
to the required channel number.
All transmitters and receivers must be set to
the same channel.
