CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
If the cat scratcher is dirty, to maintain or clean it, you have to consider the material rst. Our cat scratcher is made of soft plush,
sisal post and ake board, so its maintenance or cleaning will be done according to the following steps:
1. IF THERE IS CAT HAIR ON THE PLUSH OR POST
- Using a brush will help to remove dirt from the scratching post.
- You can also use the hoover tube to go over the poster more intensively, centimetre by centimetre.
If you still see cat hairs on the post, try using a lint roller.
2. IF THE CAT HAS EXPELLED VOMIT OR A HAIRBALL, IT IS BEST TO CLEAN IT UP IMMEDIATELY
- Wipe o the dirt with a damp cloth.
- Choose a cat-safe disinfectant that does not contain citrus, as this will make your cat reluctant to use the post.
- Spray on the disinfectant and then remove it and the dirt.
3. CLEAN THE PEE WITH AN ODOUR NEUTRALISER
- It is best to use a cleaner that is designed to neutralise urine odours, especially if your cat is male.
- You can also use vinegar with water to clean and neutralise the odour. Allow to dry and remove the excess.
4. DISINFECT THE ENTIRE SCRATCHING POST
- After cleaning the scratching post, disinfect it.
- When choosing a disinfectant, remember to get one that is suitable for pets.
- Spray it on and let it sit for a while, then wipe it o with a cloth and let it dry.
You can also put it in the sunlight, make sure all sides get the same light, and leave it out there for at least 2 or 3 hours.
