2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PRECAUTIONS:
1. For AC operation, make sure the voltage is compatible. Always
use the provided AC power cord; never use other AC power cords.
For DC operation, simply insert three "UM-2 / C" batteries.
2. Always disconnect the AC power cord from the AC power source
when it is not in use or when battery power is in use.
3. Do not leave the batteries in the unit for extended periods of time
unless it is in operation. Remove the batteries to avoid leakage
and damage.
4. Do not expose the unit to extreme temperature nor to high humidity
in order to ensure normal functioning and a long lifetime.
For instance, never place the unit in bathing areas nor around
stoves or radiators.
5. If you find the unit is not working properly, please take it to your
nearest service centre. Do not attempt to repair it by yourself.
WARNING:
To prevent a fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or
moisture.
To avoid an electrical shock, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself.
Any repairs should be carried out by a service agent or a qualified
engineer only.

2.2. Using the Product
Battery Supply
Open the battery compartment and insert two type R14, UM2 or C
batteries as indicated in the compartment.
The battery supply is switched off when the set is connected to the
mains. To change over to battery supply, pull out the plug from the
MAINS socket.
Mains Supply
Connect the mains lead to a wall socket. Ensure the mains Supply
is switched on.
To disconnect the set from the mains completely, pull the mains plug
from the wall socket.
Radio
1. Select the wave band using the RADIO BAND SELECTOR.
2. Adjust the sound with the VOLUME CONTROL.
3. You may connect stereo 3.5mm headphones with 3.5mm to the
HEADPHONE JACK, which will then mute the loudspeakers.
4. Tune into a radio station using the RADIO TUNING CONTROL.
To improve reception:
For FM, pull out the telescopic aerial. To improve FM Reception
incline and turn the aerial, reduce its length if the FM-signal is too
strong (very close to a transmitter).
For AM, the set is provided with a built-in aerial, so there is no need to
use the telescopic aerial. Turn the set to find the best position.
