B1 MiniDOS INSTALLATION
B1.1 Before installation
Before installation please verify that the water supplied fulfills local requirements for
water intended for human consumption. Before installation check for the compliance of
the distribution system and the equipment to local regulations. The Manufacturer
disclaims all responsability for damages caused by improper installation or installation
not compliant with local regulations.
MiniDOS is not equipped, by standard, with any flooding-control system or other devices able to
detect, control or alarm in case of runaway water losses. In case, consider, apart, an adequate anti
flooding device.
Do not install MiniDOS downstream of boilers or other devices running water at temperature higher
than 30 °C. Install MiniDOS upstream of devices to protect.
Before installing MiniDOS or any other equipment for polyphosphates dosage upstream
of solar boilers or water storages where temperature could rise for a long time above 60
°C please contact Acqua Brevetti Srl. The permanence of AcquaSIL 20/40
of polyphosphates in accumulations at high temperature may imply the partial or
complete loss of effectiveness.
B1.2 Requirements for the place of installation
Install in a place hygienic, dry and clean, protected from frost, exposure to sunlight, atmospheric
agents (rain, snow and hail). Do not install the equipment in wells, near drains, or in smelly places.
Do not install where any kind of chemical vapours or gas and fumes may be present. Avoid
installation in tight spaces which cannot allow easy maintenance. Limits of environmental conditions:

B1.3 Laws, Regulations and Standards
Installation must be performed in compliance with local laws, regulations and standards.
B1.4 Instruction for installation
Install a filter to protect the equipment.
The installation must be compliant with best practice, in line with current legislation and rating data.
The Manufacturer disclaims all responsability for damage caused by improper installation or
installation not compliant with local regulations.
Materials and components used in water distribution systems must be compliant with local
regulations. Water distribution systems must be modified in such a way as not to compromise
hygienic requirements. After its installation or modification, a water distribution system should be
cleaned and disinfected according to EN 806:4 (or other local pertaining standard/legislation). Do
not install between water heater and safety devices.
Water treatment devices must be provided with a backflow preventer, manual or automatic by-pass
valves, sampling taps upstream and dopwnstream of the equipment.
Avoid that solvents, oils, acids, bases and detergents contact the equipment. In case of strong shock
or impact during transportation do not install and replace it even in the case of no apparent damage.
In case of water hammers please install a water hammer damper. If water pressure is higher than
the maximum allowed pressure (even for short time) please install a pressure reducer.
