Preparation for operation
Before each use of the device, make a careful inspection of the components of the
device: housing, safety hook, connector, working rope along the entire length in
terms of mechanical, chemical or thermal damage. You should also check the
operation of the self-locking mechanism: pull the rope continuously - it should move
smoothly and without braking, then pull quickly two/three times and check that it
is blocked.
If there are any faults or doubts as to the correct condition and operation of the
device, withdraw it immediately from use. When in use, protect all parts of the unit
from contact with oils, solvents, acids and bases, open flames, splashes of hot metal
and sharp-edged objects. Avoid using the device in a very dusty and oily
environment.
Check the fall indicator on the safety hook of the device - if you can see any
exposed red tape, immediately remove the device from further use.
