5.0 Using the program
By using the FMI-931PC cable, connect the serial interface COM1 of your computer with the force gauge.
Open the MS Excel worksheet or an appropriate document template and start the add-in by clicking on
Fmi_Connect_FGBC in the menu bar as shown below.
If such a warning window should appear, please check whether the cable (FMI- 931PC) is inserted
properly.
Requirements for Data Transfer:
Baud rate: 19200 bps
Data length: 8 bits
Parity: none
Stop Bit: 1 bit
Port: COM 1
FMI-200 and FMI-400 force gauges delivered before 01.06.2004 have by default the baud rate of 2400.
Please change the rate to 19200 by following these instructions:
•
Switch off the unit.
•
Press and hold >>O<<-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until 'f01' appears on display, then release >>O<<-button.
•
Select Function fo4 using PEAK-button.
•
Select the desired baud rate (19200) by pressing MODE-button.
•
Press >>O<<-button to save the settings.
