6 CONFIGURING THE INTERFACE

You must reconfigure the interface if you want to assign it a different IP address.

6.1 Configuring the browser

- Open the web browser (typically Microsoft Internet Explorer)
- Select "Use the following IP address"
- Enter a compatible IP address and subnet mask. For example, if the
company network only has PC and RI components:
- in the "IP address" field, enter a value that differs from that of the inter-
face only in its last digit (e.g. 172.18.1.201).
- in the "Subnet mask" and "Default gateway" fields, enter the weld@net
interface's default values (subnet mask default 255.255.0.0)
- click "OK" to close all the windows
- If the network also includes a proxy server, select "Internet options"
from the "Tools" menu to detect IP addresses
- If the network also includes a proxy server to detect IP addresses, on the
"Connections" tab, select "LAN settings", then click "Advanced" in the
window that appears
