6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
As the EM is still in its development process, the above
description is subject to change without any previous
warning.
Once the SLC Energy Manager, (EM from now on) is properly
connected to the inverter RS-485 bus, it will monitor the inverter/s
main parameters, measures, status, and alarms. Up to 10 inverters
can be connected to the RS-485 bus, with a different address
each, in de range from 20 to 40. The EM will work as Master of
the system, requesting data from each of them and, from time to
time, scanning the bus for newly connected inverters. This process
can be triggered through the user interface too. The EM can also
send commands to the different inverters to change some of their
parameters, adjust the amount of energy generated and injected in
the user grid or even stop them.
The EM has also got two built-in relays that can be programmed
to make the most of the energy generated by the inverters, by
starting/stopping loads in the user system. There are several
modes, these relays can be set, through the user interface:
Manual On/Off.

On/Off depending on the system surplus energy.

On/Off date/Time Scheduling.
