Select and install the Speed-Feed
mounting hardware. Use the Speed-Feed
Application Chart provided to identify the
bushing or bushing and mounting stud combi-
nation needed for your model.
IMPORTANT: For ECHO units only. If the cut-
off blade on the unit is molded into the debris
shield the Speed-Feed
the unit as is - go to Step 6. If the cut-off blade
is retained by screws and nuts, check the
debris shield on the unit for "R" mark (E)
between the cut-off blade screws.
Units with the "R" mark - The Speed-Feed
500 line head will fit on unit as is - go to Step 6.

Units without the "R" mark – Remove the 10 x
1.25 mm left-hand (gold) bushing from the

Speed-Feed
500 line head and replace it with
the M10 x 1.25 mm left-hand (silver) arbor
bushing (F) and black-colored spacer (G).

listed, match the existing mounting hardware
from your model with the Speed-Feed

NOTE: The 10 x 1.25 mm left-hand (gold)
bushing (used with LH1, LH2, and LH6) is
factory installed in the trimmer head.
The following bushings are included in the
package:
• 8 x 1.2 mm left-hand (red) bushing
(used with LH3 and LH4)
• 10 x 1.0 mm left-hand (green) bushing
(used with LH5)
• 10 x 1.25 mm left-hand (silver) bushing
(used with LH6)
If required, depress locking tabs (H), and open
the trimmer head to install a new bushing.

Reassemble the trimmer head in reverse order
of disassembly. The trimmer head halves will
snap together tightly only if the parts are prop-
erly assembled.
