• If the headpiece magnet is too strong, pressure sores may develop at the headpiece
site. If this happens, or if the user experiences any discomfort, irritation, pressure,
or redness in this area, they should contact their cochlear implant professional.
• Store spare magnets safely and away from cards that may have a magnetic strip
(e.g. credit cards).
Intended Use
The 3D Magnet Plus is intended to be used with Advanced Bionics' UHP 3D
Plus headpiece.
Description of the Device
The 3D Magnet Plus is a removable magnet designed for the UHP 3D Plus headpiece
to ensure retention between the cochlear implant and the headpiece. A foam spacer is
affixed to the magnet to ensure a secure fit inside the headpiece magnet well. Arrows
on top of the magnet help to orient the magnet in the general upward direction within
the headpiece. The 3D Color Cap Removal Tool includes a magnetic bottom to assist
with the magnet placement in the headpiece and a tip to aid in the removal of the
headpiece color cap.
