1. Place the kettle base on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge
or flammable materials.
2. Plug the cord into a 120 volt, AC outlet only. Fill kettle to desired volume, but no
less than "Min" or more than "Max." Use the water gauge on the side of the kettle
to determine fill. Place the kettle onto the kettle base. Be sure that the cover is
firmly in the kettle before heating. Note: Do not attempt to heat anything other
than water in the Kettle. With liquids and mixtures of low water content, the Kettle
may be damaged.
3. Press down on the On/Off switch to "I". If only warm water is desired, you can
interrupt the heating procedure at any time by simply lifting the kettle off of its
base. The power switch will shut "OFF". To resume heating, place the kettle on
the base and press the ON/OFF switch. Warning: Do not remove the lid while
the water is boiling. Only boil water with the lid in place so that steam is directed
away from the handle.
4. When water has boiled, the kettle will automatically turn off. Lift the kettle off the
base and carefully pour.
1.
Unplug the kettle from the outlet and allow to cool completely before cleaning.
Always empty the kettle out after use. Do not let water sit. Do not immerse Kettle
or Base in water or any other liquid.
2.
Wipe the outside surfaces with a damp cloth as needed. Note: Do not use any
abrasive scouring pads or cleansers on the kettle as scratching will occur.
3.
Periodically, descale the kettle to prevent buildup.
In areas with a high calcium content in the water supply, the Kettle should be
decalcified at regular intervals.
• Fill the Kettle with a solution of 16 oz. water and 6 tablespoons of vinegar and
bring to a boil.
• When process is complete, rinse the Kettle twice with clean water.
• Commercially available liquid descalers may also be used. Follow the instructions
provided with decalcifier by its manufacturer.
Regular decalcification will keep the Kettle operating at peak performance and
electrical efficiency. It will also extend the life of the Kettle.
Over time slightly brownish stains may appear inside of the Kettle. This is not rusting
of the Kettle, it is a result of high iron content in the water supply, often referred to as
boiler scale. These stains can be easily wiped away with a cloth or mild abrasive.
Rinse Kettle thoroughly after decalcification or cleaning.
