2 Before you wear your new avatar
M.A.I.A. has everything you need to live Second Life in a fun and functional way. You won't need
other components or HUDs to enjoy the experience of impersonating a sexy female robot with
unprecedented levels of detail.
That doesn't mean you can't wear other items, even third-party items, you just need to be careful
to "add" them and not "replace" them with M.A.I.A. components.
Before you start, I suggest you save your current clothing so you can call it up whenever you
want.
At this point you can open the M.A.I.A. box. Inside you will find 3 boxes, each containing a small,
medium and large version of M.A.I.A. respectively and a notecard with a link to this manual. Click
on the box and copy the contents into the inventory.
Rez the box with the size you want of M.A.I.A. and click on it. You can copy the items into the
inventory without changing the contents of the box. I suggest that you don't delete M.A.I.A. boxes,
if you break something or misalign parts when editing the avatar, you may want to wear a correct
version of M.A.I.A..
Once you have opened the box with the desired size and copied all the parts into the inventory,
right-click on the folder containing the M.A.I.A. parts and select "replace clothing".
Your new avatar will appear!
Check to see if the three M.A.I.A. voice gestures are active, they are named MAIA - talk1, MAIA -
talk2, and MAIA - talk3. They are used to activate the movement of M.A.I.A.'s mouth when you
speak in voice. If the mouth movement is too sensitive try to deactivate the MAIA - talk1 gesture,
you will raise the threshold level for which M.A.I.A. LipSync is activated.
M.A.I.A. comes with a HUD that allows you to control all of its functions. If after wearing
everything you don't see a small HUD in the top left corner then it might be hidden outside the
screen, edit the screen and shrink it with the mouse wheel to see if your HUD is out of visual
range.
