Trimming
Position the bottom of the bump head
about 3" (8 cm) above the ground and
at a slight angle (Fig. 7). Allow only the
tip of the line to make contact with the
grass.
NOTE: Allowing more than just the tip
of the line to do the trimming will result
in rougher cutting action and excessive
wear on the line.
Scalping
Scalping an area will remove all
unwanted vegetation down to the
ground. When scalping, position the
bottom of the bump head about 3" (8
cm) above the ground and at a slight
angle (Fig. 8). Allow only the tip of the
line to make contact with the ground.
NOTE: Scalping is ideal for use around
trees, shrubs, posts, ornaments, etc. Be
aware that scalping will increase
trimmer line wear considerably.
Mowing
Use the GasLess
small or rough areas where a
conventional lawn mower cannot be
used. When mowing, keep the line
parallel to the ground at the desired
height (Fig. 9). Move the trimmer from
left to right while cutting. This cutting
motion will throw grass and debris
predominantly away from the operator.
NOTE: Be careful not to allow the bump
head to contact the ground, as this
could result in scalping and/or releasing
more trimmer line from the spool.
